PRECIOUS Precious was abandoned at Pete and Mac’s in Gilbert (pet resort and doggie day care). Her previous owner told Pete and Mac’s management that he had taken Precious from a drug addict who was abusive. Precious is a very sweet girl! She is afraid of hoses and generally doesn’t care for water, but she loves everyone that she meets. The staff at Pete and Mac’s have been taking great care of her – showering her with affection, lots of games of fetch (one of her favorite games). Precious is thought to be about 5 years old. UKIAH, CA RUGER is an elegant 4 1/2-yr-old female German Shepherd/mix. Born Feb. '06, she is spayed and in good health. She is not aggressive to other dogs, but doesn't get around them much. Ruger needs some leash training, and doggy classes would be great for her to help her settle in with her new handler. She is great off leash in the forests and meadows, but it's not advised in neighborhoods. This big girl is good indoors and wants to be a lap dog! She will Sit for a treat and Come on hand signal. She is resource protective and needs some help in that area regarding food aggression. So she will not be adopted to those with children or small animals. She does need secure containment as she likes to roam the neighborhood if she gets out... and will play Come Ketch Me rather than come to you right away. Ruger is really a good girl and her owner can no longer keep her. Someone that is an experienced dog handler, active and can give her lots of attention and training would be great for Ruger. SADIE ~ CALIFORNIA 7 month old Female GSD Sadie is a beautiful 7 mos old youngster who loves to play and run! Sadie was relinquished to rescue because her owner could no longer care for her. She is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. She is a quick learner and knows her basic commands. She walks well on the leash & enjoys riding in the truck with the other dogs. She hops right the truck bed & goes directly into the crate. She knows to "wait" before she allowed to come out of the truck. She passed her preliminary cat test on her first day at an adoption event, but she should have another before we deem her cat friendly. Sadie would do well as an agility dog or in an active home. She is crate trained really likes her chew treats. Sadie is in foster home with 4 German shepherds; 3 female and 1 male. She has adjusted well to them and tries hard to engage them in play and follow the rules! She is not food aggressive or toy possessive.She is a very happy girl and wants nothing more than to play and hang out with you. She will lay at your feet while you surf the Internet. She is good in the house,but since she is still a puppy, she shouldn't be left alone with free range. She would acclimate best to a home with mature dogs of either sex or young/same age male dog or maybe even as an only dog. She wants very much to play and is learning how to play with others. She is very friendly to all people. She has puppy energy and characteristics; so for now, she needs someone to channel her energy through exercise/agility and mental stimulation.
