RUTH

We first heard about this little girl from our friend, Tiffany, at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue in California, who was forwarding a plea for her from Ruth at Animal Alliance.

Ruth was trying everything she knew how to get this dog out of the Downey Shelter alive, but time was running out and we knew we had to act fast to save her.

With our transport vehicle out of commission and time running short we had no choice but to commit to taking Ruth now, and then figuring out how to pay for a transporter to go to Los Angeles to pick her up later.

In the meantime, she has to be moved to a boarding kennel to keep her safe until we can raise the funds to get to her. In honor of the person who was trying so hard to save her life, we named this little girl "Ruth."

UPDATE 7/21: Little Ruth was bailed out of the Downey Shelter this afternoon and moved to Ken's Canine in downtown LA to await transport to Phoenix.

Ruth is thin, but we have just the foster mom who can take care of that once she arrives in Phoenix

If you can help us bring Ruth to Phoenix, she would sure appreciate it!

UPDATE 7/23: Ruth went to visit Little Ruth today to make sure she was doing all right. She was able to take Little Ruth out for a walk.

Ruth enjoys the sunshine

She needs some groceries!

UPDATE 7/24: Thanks to John of Tundra Shepherd Rescue, Ruth arrived safe and sound in Phoenix this evening.

John wishes Ruth well and turns her over to Foster Mom Sara

Ruth and Sara head off for Tucson...time will tell if this will be a permanent arrangement

UPDATE 7/27: Foster mom Sara reports that Ruth is her "couch potato." She loves lounging on the livingroom sofa at every opportunity, but as soon as the camera comes out, she's off in a flash. According to Sara, She is good, not eating as much as I would like, and ignores biscuits. She also does not pee as often as I would like...as in not after 8:30 last night, until I was home this afternoon, but goes a lot when she does go. She is drinking though, so must just have a large bladder. She loves to talk to my neighbors, lol. I held her up...front end...so she could meet Don this afternoon, and she did good with that. She also brings me "gifts" from the laundry room...as in dirty clothes or rags. LOL She whines for a while when I put her in her crate, but calms down after a bit. I would say, she is great, and very sweet, and adapting well to being in the house. She is pretty good at letting me know she has to go out too, she either goes to the door now, or more likely, paces all over so I know. Enough rambling for now, should have just said, she is great, and we are both in love, lol.

UPDATE 7/30: Thanks to foster mom Sara, Ruthy is settling in and looking more like a shepherd every day.

Ruthy has had a bath, and she feels 100 percent better
