|Pacheco and her brother, Taz, were surrendered to the Arizona Humane Society in August of 2010 as youngsters (under 2 years of age). We were notified by AHS, and were making preparations to take them in, when the pair was quickly scooped up by HALO and taken to their facility on north 35th Avenue.
After about a week, HALO made the determination that their rescue was not the proper place for two undersocialized and very energetic German shepherds, and so they reached out to us to see if we would be willing to take on the pair, and we were.
Both Taz and Pacheco found their new homes; Pacheco in November of 2010, and Taz in February of 2011.
UPDATE 9/2017: Pacheco and her new partner, Tommy, have been in the same loving home since her adoption in 2010. She has been loved and well taken care of by her adopter; and now disaster has struck. Her adopter is being transferred to another country for work. Given Pacheco and Tommy's ages (8+), relocation that includes a 20+ hour plane flight to a foreign country is not in their best interests, and so we have been asked to find these 2 loving seniors a home where they can live out their days in peace.
INFORMATION WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN ABOUT THE DOGS:
According to their owner, "Both dogs are very adorable. Best part about them is they are calm when you need them to be calm and energetic when you need them to be out and running or in dog park. They both love to have goodies to eat. I will really appreciate if they are not separated as they have been partners in crime for very long time and dogs do go through heavy stress if separated."
Both dogs are in good health. Shots are up to date. Dental work is up to date.
From Tommy & Pacheco's owner: "I love my pets. Only reason I have to give them up for adoption is because my work has been moved out of country. I don't want to fly them out to another country and transit time is 20 to 22 hours and I am scared the way airlines handle pets. I will provide 5 large size Pro Plan dog food bags to kick start and help the new owner. They should last the new kind and caring owner about 3.5 to 4 months easily."
Adoption fee is a freewill donation to our rescue.
