MISHA II

| This pretty lady is a five year old papered purebred in need of stability, more exercise, freedom and mental stimulation. She is a high-strung active gal who would benefit greatly from having an owner with German Shepherd know-how.
This will be her forth home, all previous owners should have chosen another breed. Her original owner kept her crated most of the time; so Misha just stored energy all day. Her current owner tried hard but applied "clicker & cookie" training to a dog that needs leadership and boundaries rather than isolation, confinement and rewards for excitement behavior. She has been walked in a head-haltie (gentle leader) of which we are not particularly fond, so leash work will begin anew with the appropriate tools.
Typical of her breed, Misha does not do well with other females but will be fine with a confident male. Also typical of her breed, she will not do well staring at four walls all day; she will need someone who has time for her. We want very much to get her into foster care in Phoenix so that we may start working with her. Until then she can be shown in Tucson, by appointment. Misha is house trained, crate trained, spayed, microchipped and current with her vaccinations. She is a lovely gal that needs to be in the right hands. A group obedience class will be a proviso of her adoption; we can certainly help in that regard. UPDATE 6/5: Misha's mom will be doing some summer traveling; we sure would like to get her settled in before then. She's a well trained and obedient gal with typical GSD behaviors; selective about her canine friends, too much prey drive for smaller critters and she would prefer not to be in a multi-dog household. As with most GSDs, she wants to be the center of your universe and will compete for attention. She does well around children, however, she's a high energy lady, easily excited, so no toddlers. Misha simply needs someone who knows how to respond to any inappropriate behaviors and who will interact with her on a daily basis. She will reward you with gratitude and devotion. She is a friendly, outgoing gal, fairly well socialized, however in need of additional inter-dog meeting skills. She simply has not been shown how to properly meet new dogs on the street yet is fine with those that she knows.
This is relatively easy to accomplish with the right handler. She has not demonstrated any aggression and is very responsive to the guidance she welcomes and requires.
