|Kate was brought to our attention by our facebook angel, Kathy J. She had spotted Kate in a California shelter and, even though she knew we were bursting at the seams and not taking on any new dogs, she just had to ask...
Kate had come in as a stray in early October. Once her stray hold was up, she was put up for adoption but, sadly, because she was shy and not showing well, she was passed over time and time again. As the days passed, Katie grew more and more depressed...
Time was running out for Kate, simply because she had been there too long. The shelter said they had no problems handling her but because she is fearful they didnít put her with another dog. Kathy was afraid we were her only chance of getting out alive, and so we took a leap of faith and said we'd take her.
Kathy set things in motion and our favorite transporter, Tera, was at the shelter picking up Kate within minutes!
Kate is safe at Crossroads where she will remain, safe and sound, until we have room for her here in Phoenix. She kissed Teraís hand, and Joe (at Crossroads) says she will be just fine.
UPDATE 11/5: Kate had her spay surgery today and came through without complication. She will be given some time to recuperate before being brought to Phoenix in search of her forever home. She would love a foster or foster-to-adopt home once she gets here; she is scheduled to arrive on November 17th.
UPDATE 11/17: Thanks to a little help from our friends, Chuck & Jon, at Husky Camp Rescue in California, Kat arrived safe and sound in Phoenix this afternoon. She is sweet and friendly, but a little bewildered at having her life completely turned upside down yet again. We're going to give him some time to settle in at her temporary foster home and begin scheduling introductions as soon as she has her "desert legs" under her.
Katie is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on shots and ready for the rest of her life.
Adoption fee $385.00.
