These two beautiful girls were picked up together in the Thousand Palms area of California on July 8th. It is believed they are sisters and have been together for all of their young lives. According to our contact at the shelter, the girls are very friendly and sweet.
We are working on transport to Phoenix or a temporary foster in California for the girls in order to save them, but time is short. Please check back for updates. We're also taking suggestions (other than Thelma and Louise) for names for these two little girls. UPDATE 8/1: Thanks to Kathy in Desert Hot Springs, the girls will be pulled from the shelter and fostered by Kathy and her family for the next two weeks until we can arrange transport. UPDATE 8/4: The girls were spayed and bailed out of the shelter today. Kathy reports that they are doing well. We're hoping for pictures soon. Please check back. UPDATE 8/10: Foster mom Kathy reports that the girls are doing well in their temporary foster home in Desert Hot Springs. They get along with the other family dog and the other furry critters in the family. They have recovered from their spay surgery and, if Kathy and her family don't decide to adopt one of them, they will be headed for Phoenix in another week or two. Kathy promised us pictures. UPDATE 8/16: Foster mom Kathy has had some computer issues, so we have not as yet received the promised pictures of the girls. She does report that they are doing well and are very attached to each other...and she and her family may want to adopt them! We'll know for sure in the next week, so please check back. Adoption fees to be determined.
