| Buster is a two and a half year old American-bred BiColor boy who loves kids, dogs, cats and people.
He hasn't had total freedom in the house so he gets a bit vocal with excitement when he sees you and could use a little leash work due to infrequent walks....No biggie.
He is scheduled to be evaluated the week of Feb, 22nd. Please check back for more info. EVALUATION: BUSTER is a lovable guy. His leash manners are lacking as Mom started him out running without having taught him to walk first so in effect, she inadvertently taught him to pull. Having said that, Buster is very much under control in experienced hands, he's extremely compliant and will train well and easily. He will, however, have to go to school; he's a strong youngster capable of dragging a small adult around. He has not lived with any children but has done very well with the visiting grandchild..Buster is a gentle soul. He does get very excited when he sees another dog, seemingly just to play, yet we would like to see him again to get him up close and personal with some strange dogs. We believe he will simply need to learn how to appropriately meet and greet an unfamiliar dog. Since Buster was running instead of walking most all of the time he was out and about, he is a bit under socialized; at an empty park he was distracted...when a dog is in accelerated forward motion they tend to block out what's in their periphery thus not getting the opportunity to "smell the roses", so to speak. This coupled with being confined primarily to one room and a dog door to the yard doesn't provide the outside world experiences. It's not a big deal, he shows no aggression at all, he just needs to be exposed to all things away from his own turf more. Buster has a mild case of thunder phobia and will want to be by your side during a storm. A calm leader along with more freedom and controlled exercise will help to reduce his level of excitement which manifests only vocally. In essence, he stores energy; once he gets ample attention and a place to put that energy he will be the perfect companion. In a nutshell, Buster is a very large lap dog. Adoption fee $350.00.
